Special Education (SPED) Related Certification Validation Rules Returned to Fatal Errors

All Special Education (SPED) related fatal Certification Validation Rules (CVRs) and certification data discrepancies (CDDs) that were temporarily moved to “warnings” on Tuesday November 30, 2022 returned to fatal errors on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. Any revisions during this time are now obsolete and LEAs must take action on revisions dated after December 20, 2022. Revisions generated after the Tuesday, December 20, maintenance release reflect the CDD and CVR changes.

LEAs that have an LEA Approval or a Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Approval revision dated between November 30 and December 20 must abandon the revision and work on the latest Revised Uncertified revision (dated after December 20, 2022). LEAs that have an LEA Approval or a SELPA Approval status on a revision dated between November 30 and December 20, during the time when SPED CDDs and CVRs were temporarily changed to warnings, will need to disapprove that revision and work on a most recent "Revised Uncertified" revision to view and clear errors that have now been reverted to Fatal.LEAs must work on the most recent Revised uncertified revision dated after December 20, 2022 to resolve all fatal errors and are required to have SELPA Approval by January 20, 2023, for their Fall 1 submission to be considered certified.
