Developing, Aligning, and Improving Systems of Academic and Behavioral Supports


Funding Description

The purpose of the Improving Systems of Academic and Behavioral Supports (ISABS) grant is to enable the successful applicant to develop and disseminate statewide resources and technical assistance that encourage local education agencies (LEAs) to establish and align schoolwide, data-driven systems of academic and behavioral supports to meet the needs of California’s diverse learners. The amended grant provides additional funds to LEAs to fund services or practices aligned to the Multi-Tiered System of Support framework.

Allocation Formula The entire grant is awarded to the fiscal agent of the successful applicant. The budget section of the successful application will clearly describe how funding for demonstration sub-agreements will be allocated to local educational agencies and charter schools for the purpose of identifying, evaluation, learning about, or testing the feasibility of effective approaches, as described in Part D, numbers 1-5 of the RFA Overview.
