GMART Instructions

Grant Management and Reporting Tool (GMART) Instructions for local educational agencies (LEAs) and county offices of education (COEs) to complete and submit applications for funding and to modify and submit budget and expenditure data in the GMART.

General Information

  • The GMART is best viewed with:

    • Chrome 56.0 or higher
    • Internet Explorer 11.0 or higher
    • Mozilla Firefox 51.0 or higher
    • Safari 5.1.7 or higher

  • GMART sessions will timeout after 20 minutes of inactivity and the user will need to login again to continue. Please note that while data in tables will be stored, certain text may be lost due to the timeout and may need to be re-entered.

  • Use the menu within the GMART to navigate within the system and to return to the GMART Home Page. Please do not use the forward or back options of the browser. Please do not refresh or reload the page.

  • Simultaneous use of the GMART in multiple tabs or windows of the browser is not recommended as it may corrupt application data.

Federal Reporting Timeline for FY 2019 CSI Funds

The California Department of Education is required to meet reporting requirements under the ESSA, section 1003(i) for school improvement funds. In the GMART under the Federal Report tab LEAs will report:

  • The amount of funds each CSI-eligible school received, and
  • The types of strategies implemented in each school with such funds

LEAs will be required to report fiscal data under the Federal Reports tab in the GMART in alignment with the Federal Reporting Timelines below.
