Are you interested in hearing planning thoughts and decision-making questions to reopening meal service at schools while mitigating COVID-19 risks? The California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division (NSD) is hosting Tuesdays @ 2 virtual town hall events every two weeks to provide an opportunity for schools to discuss their plans and best practices for reopening their food service operations.

Our next Tuesdays @ 2 School Nutrition Town Hall webinar is Tuesday, June 2, 2020. The speakers will share their thought process and factors that are being considered in their decision-making process to serve meals when schools reopen. In addition, they will be sharing how they will be promoting social distancing with food service staff during meal prep and with students during meal service.

Panelists will include:

  • Michelle Drake, Director, Food and Nutrition Services, Elk Grove Unified School District (USD)
  • Laura Jacobo, Director, Nutrition Services, Woodlake USD
  • Daryl Hickey, Director, Food Nutrition Services, Pomona USD
  • Vince Caguin, Director, Nutrition Services and Warehousing, Natomas USD

Target Audience

The target audience includes all state and local school nutrition professionals, superintendents, school business officials, and community partners involved in school meal service.
